Two ways to build: Use the AI System Builder to automatically configure a complete multi-axis system from your requirements, or use Pro Mode to manually select and position individual actuators from our full library.
1. System Type — Choose your configuration: Single Axis, XY, XYZ, XX'Y-H Gantry, XX'Y-V Gantry, XX'YZ-P Gantry, XX'YZ-I Gantry, or XX'YZ-P Elevated. Each defines how axes connect and orient.
2. Payload & Speed — The engine scores every actuator in our catalog against your requirements. Products meeting payload get +30, speed get +20. Gearbox options (3:1, 5:1) multiply torque at reduced speed — the engine checks if a smaller series with gearbox can handle both before upsizing.
3. Motor Type & Position — Stepper motors (NEMA 17/23/34) for cost-effective positioning up to 25kg. Servo motors for higher payload (up to 50kg), faster speeds (up to 2500mm/s), and closed-loop precision. Motor UP or DOWN orientation changes the physical mounting.
4. Right-Sizing — The engine prefers the smallest actuator series that meets specs: SBA45 (1kg–7kg) → SBA60 (3.5kg–10kg) → SBA90/SBAC90 (7kg–50kg). It only upsizes when both payload AND speed require it.
5. Z-Axis Speed → Screw Pitch — For Z-axis systems, speed maps to lead screw pitch: 150mm/s → 6.35mm, 300mm/s → 6.35mm, 500mm/s → 12.7mm, 750mm/s → 25.4mm. Higher pitch = faster but lower force.
6. Spacing Calculation — XX' gantries auto-calculate X-X' spacing from the Y actuator's overall length (OAL) minus mounting margins. SBAC90 Motor Down uses Y travel + 312mm.
SBA 45 — Compact belt-drive, NEMA 17, 1–7kg, up to 2500mm/s (servo). Ideal for light-duty XY/XYZ.
SBA 60 — Mid-range belt-drive, NEMA 23, 3.5–10kg, up to 2500mm/s. Most versatile for gantries.
SBA 90 / SBAC 90 — Heavy-duty belt-drive, NEMA 34, 7–50kg. Motor UP (SBA90) or Motor Down (SBAC90). Brake available.
LSA 45 / LSA 60 — Lead-screw actuators for Z-axis. Pitch determines speed: 6.35mm (150mm/s) → 25.4mm (750mm/s).
DBA 60 — Dual-belt with two independent carriages for collision-avoidance applications.

multiAxisSystem.axes[i].travelMM which comes from each
actuator's userData.travelX set when loaded from the product library.
If an axis is red, load a longer actuator or shrink the deck grid.
